Giving Tuesday ( #GivingTuesday) started four years ago in 2012, according to Wikipedia, as a hashtag based promotion for giving back. It’s an American-based International day that follows some of the biggest spending days of the year, though only 18% of Americans have heard of it so far. Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, tied in with American Thanksgiving weekend, are all about shopping for oneself, and getting the best deals for Christmas presents. Since 2012, […]
Are you a fan of STEM toys? Did your world right itself the moment you heard of STEAM? Maybe you haven’t heard of either yet? This gift guide is going to give you a heads up on some truly awesome, and affordable gifts that will help your child build more familiarity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Your child doesn’t suddenly need to be the next Tony Stark to survive their adulthood, but it’s […]
Thanks to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, Jay and I got a chance to snuggle up on the couch, with an abundance of popcorn, and watch Jason Bourne give a serious beat down on some baddies. Serious beat down. This guy has some moves, whoa. While watching the pre-release copy of the film, I was continually surprised at how much tech our favourite spy/assassin used that is widely available on the consumer market today. Tech that […]
What is your favourite way to stretch your holiday budget? I’m always looking for the best ways to save as I’m entirely eager to take a vacation once January rolls around. November and December are epically busy months, simply to shop for gifts, prepare special dinners (9 birthdays, Christmas and NYE parties for this household,) glam up for office parities, deck the halls, write out Christmas cards, and at some point, get the nephews to […]

As Seen In
There are a few people who I talk about often in my articles. Here's a quick bio of each:
Jay: aka TheHubs. This is my guy. We've been together since 1998, and married for nearly 10 years now. He's the ying to my yang. We love movies, adventure, and lifehacking. It's almost creepy how we can read each others minds.
Kit: aka Kit Kat, my 5 yo nephew. If I ever need a laugh, I just need to hang around him for a minute, and he'll tackle me with a "Chachi (Auntie), did you know..." or "Can we do this..." He once asked me if I could find him a toy lightsaber, but definitely not a real one, because those can hurt people, and he just wants to play.
Henry: aka Oh Henry, my 1 1/2 yo nephew. Picture a baby Mowgli from the Jungle Book, and you have Henry. He currently happily babbles to us, thinking we're totally fluent in baby-gibberish.
On The Blog
So South St. Burger has got a new fan in a 6 year boy, named Kit. And hey, his Chachi (auntie… that’s me!) has been a fan for a while now, but certainly has a new appreciation for this burger joint that aims to make your burgers better. Kit is absolutely mesmerized with the idea that he can make his own delicious burger just the way he wants it, without any say from his parents, […]
A few weeks ago, Capital One Canada hosted a hackathon in Toronto to support six local charities that are right in the thick of things. These charitable groups are on the front line of serious issues facing Torontonians today. But, they’ve found they too need a little help of their own to continue to raise the bar for the quality of life or our family, friends and thousands of neighbours. Participants quietly hard at work […]
Help food get a second life with Second Harvest. Let's not waste food that easily can go to those in need.
Send a well thought gift to a woman living in a shelter. Remind her that there is hope and respect, when she needs it most.
Sometimes, all a person needs to get their right foot onto the path of a promising career is proper business attire. Donate your gently used clothing to someone who needs a bit of help to a better future.
